Cliff Rossberg
For Cliff M. Rossberg, art has served as a vehicle for a unique journey. His artistic expressions began at a young age in the form of pencil drawings. Whether those subjects were cartoon characters, war scenes, or Montana’s wildlife, it was the beginning. At age fifteen, he took several oil painting lessons from Shirley Tippets Sand. His first images were loosely detailed impressions of scenic Montana, Indian teepees, Square Butte, and wildlife. Oil paints allowed time to blend and mix the colors and proved to be the perfect medium to progress from drawing. Over the next six years, Cliff Painted exclusively in oils and his images gradually became more detailed, realistic images of wildlife (moose, elk, deer, bear, birds, and fish) and landscapes. Cliff has won several trout and waterfowl stamp competitions including the 1999 Delaware Trout Stamp, the 2000 Kentucky Trout Stamp, the 1999 Montana Duck Stamp and the 2001 Montana Duck Stamp. Cliff’s originals are widely collected and can be found in private collections in Canada, Australia, and throughout the United States.
